Joshua Freiwald is a freelance photographer currently based in New York City. For the last 15 years he has been photographing seminal moments in people’s lives.
In photographing weddings, Josh is guided by instinct: "What inspires me is the chance to capture authentic emotion and human interaction. In the tradition of documentarians, I avoid interfering and instead allow love, humor, and joy to unfold naturally. Whether the setting is a Carribean beach, a Vermont country inn, or downtown Manhattan, my goal is to create photographs where truth and beauty coexist, full of moments large and small, reflecting all the complexity and richness of the emotions that we find in a wedding day." Joshua Freiwald has also lived and worked in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Tel Aviv. He is represented by The Annex Gallery in the U.S., and Daisy Simon in France. Clients include Estée Lauder, St. Regis Hotels, Westin, and Hotel InterContinental. His photographs are held in private collections in over 15 countries around the world.
